Henriette Bonde-Hansen

The Danish soprano, Henriette Bonde-Hansen, fin shed her studies at Midtfyns Gymnasium in 1982. She completed her singing studies at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen in 1991. She continued at the Opera Academy, also in Copenhagen, where she graduated as an opera singer in 1993. Two years later she was awarded the prize of the Danish Critics.

Henriette Bonde-Hansen made her debut as Adèle in Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus at the Jutland Opera in 1993, and has since performed in most opera houses and concert halls in Europe, South America and Canada. She is considered one of the leading Danish sopranos of this moment. At home, she has had several roles at the Danish Opera (Den Jyske Opera), as she has sung the main roles in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni at the Royal Theater (Det Kongelige Teater). She has built a diverse opera repertoire including the main W.A. Mozart's roles, Dircé in Médée, Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italia, Adina in L’elisir D’amore, Marzelline in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio, Gilda in Rigoletto, Juliette in Charles Gounod's Romeo et Juliette, Nanetta in Falstaff, Rosaura in La Vedova Scaltra, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Zdenka in Arabella and Melisande in Pelléas et Mélisande, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Elvira in I Puritani and Semiramide in Semiramide. In 2007 she participated in the opera Onegin in Odense.

Engagements brought her to the opera theatres of Amsterdam, Oslo, Toulouse, Montpellier, Paris-Bastille and Theater an der Wien Théâtre du Châtelet and the Musikverein in Vienna; she works with orchestras such as the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Residentie Orkest Den Haag, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and she has worked with renowned conductors such as Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Claus Peter Flor, Christopher Hogwood, Fabio Luisi, Antonio Pappano and Marc Minkowski.

Henriette Bonde-Hansen's concert repertoire includes L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Johannes Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, Franz Liszt's Christus, Gustav Mahler's Symphonies 2., 4., & 8, Poulenc’s Stabat Mater & Gloria and Nielsen’s Symphony No. 3. Also Debussy’s Pelleäs et Melisande, Henri Dutilleux' Correspondances, G. Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn, Delius’ Lieder, Berlioz' Nuits D'Ete and Chausson's Poeme de L'Amour et de da Mer.

Recent opera productions include Angelica in George Frideric Handel's Orlando in a co-production of the Opéra de Lille and Le Concert d'Astrée (Lille, Paris and Dijon); Arminda in W.A. Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera and Marguerite in Les Huguenots at La Monnaie-Brussels; as well as Susanna in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro at the Opéra de Bordeaux.

For Radio France Henriette Bonde-Hansen recorded Georges Bizet's Ivan IV with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. With the Danish Radio Sinfonietta and Adam Fischer a number of W.A. Mozart's operas was released: Cinna in Lucio Silla, Aspasia in Mitridate, Aminta in Il Re Pastore and Ilia in Idomeneo.

In season 2015-2016, Henriette Bonde-Hansen returned as a soloist with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra. She also performed at a series of New Year’s concerts.
